MOTG wins The Chicago Street Cup

3 July 2008, - We traveled from NYC to the windy city. Upon arrival and checking into a top hotel on the South side of Chicago, we chilled for a bit and headed to the city. We went to Grant park and enjoyed the Taste of Chicago. Later that night we played some spontaneous street games against whoever at the fireworks on Lake Michigan, we got some sick footage.

4 July 2008, - Still enjoying the holidays we went to the venue of the tournament and met with the organization. Much thanks to Mike & Brain and all the staff at Chicago Indoor Sports for looking after us!!! They have a great facility over there so if you are looking for a spot to play indoor soccer, you know where to go. Later in the afternoon we headed back down to Grant Park to catch the happenings as well as go to the city to buy some gear (someone left their shoes in NYC - Lenny MacNack!!!).

5 July 2008, 9:00 am - We arrived at the venue ready for battle. The tournament got off to a good start. I am not going to go into all details of every match but MOTG won both games with ease this day. We will be putting some video footage online soon from the whole tournament. After they realized our skills everyone changed up their games and it was more of a street brawl and free fight than football. But never fear, the squad held it down and did what they came to do, kick ass and take names later!

6 July 2008, - Our first game wasnt until like 11 am. We quickly finished off the poule rounds and breezed through to the semi finals. This was the first match that was even close to being a challenge. We had to play a team full of Bosnians. They understood the game but it was all physical and not about skills. After MOTG squared off and got in sync they killed them as well. After this there was only one more... The final.... Long story short - MOTG won 6-3. We came to win it and that is what happened. The videos will tell the story later... DOPE FOOTAGE, MOTG Murder DEM!

Street football in America has a lot of growing to do and a long way to go. There are guys with talent but the scene needs to be developed. The tournament was good but there were a lot of small organizational problems and not a big turnout compared to the tournaments in Europe and South America. But all in all it was a good start. Thanks to all the players and teams that support MOTG and showed us love. Big up to Travis and crew from CALLE Soccer, they were there and showed MOTG a lot of love and respect. We will get up with you guys next time we are in LA. To all USA street football players... Let build up this scene and take it to the next level. Signing off and we hope to have some dope video footage from you guys real soon.... Off to Suriname, South America.

MOTG visits Soccer Centers New Jersey

1 June 2008 - Well today we are off to New Brunswick, New Jersey. We were invited to come over and give a clinic/demonstration and play some matches against their best players. We arrived and did what we do best... the kids loved it. Lenny, Lenny, Lenny is what the kids were chanting all morning... After flexing our skills and passing on the knowledge and passion for skills development we took a break and all went out to dinner. Stuffed and Sleepy we returned to the facility at let the visitors of Soccer Centers know why these guys are called Masters!!! WE hope to have some video footage for you guys soon. Thank you Bart, Mark and the rest of the Soccer Centers staff for taking care of us.

Chillout time

Monday - 30 June 2008 - We chilled today! Time to break out the BBQ grill. We all packed in the vans and went out to Jones Beach for a few hours. We planned this on Sunday but it rained most of the day and that killed it as well as us going out and playing some planned pick up games on the streets.

Astoria Street Battle Against NYC

Saturday - 28 June 2008 - We played NYC for part 2 of our open challenge. After beating them (no murdering them) in the first meeting, they went and got reinforcements but we didnt notice any difference. Again it was all fun and love for the game but they got another spanking. This time we took it easy and the score was only 19-4 MOTG!!! There isnt much more that i need to say about this. "X" Thanks man and big up to the rest of crew and lets all stay in touch!

"Showdown in Chinatown" - Steve Nash and Claudio Reyna

Wednesday 25 June 2008 - Today was OFF THE CHAIN!!!! We attended "Showdown in Chinatown," and it benefited the Steve Nash Foundation and the Claudio Reyna Foundation. Alongside Nash, the two-time NBA MVP, and Phoenix Suns guard Leandro Barbosa, were former Liverpool greats Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman and Rob Jones.

Playing with Reyna, Jozy Altidore and Gregg Berhalter were Jason Kidd and Baron Davis and Chelsea's Salomon Kalou, who played for Ivory Coast in a World Cup qualifier Sunday and was a late addition. But the real star of the day was (OUR HOMIE) Barcelona's Thierry Henry, fresh off playing for France in Euro 2008. Before the match even started Henry walked over to hook up with us and got a PANNA (nutmeg) in the process from "Gala Donna". Henry admitted to being scared and not wanting to come over here and get embarrassed. We got our peeps all over big up "Menk"!! It was a really dope event, we had front row seats on the field. There were some nice actions here and their. The NBA players actually got some game. Jason Kid did what he does best (giving out assists) and Barbosa and the other guys also were dope to be non soccer players. There were so many people it was a mad house, people climbing up in the trees and on the fence to see the match. The Vibe was perfect. After the match MOTG even got an exclusive interview with CNN - keep your eyes open. Everyone recognizes the skills of the players. All in all it was a lot of fun and love... check out the video footage that will be on YOUTUBE or MOTG TV real soon. One!

MOTG games in Astoria

Yesterday we played some matches in Astoria. Shouts out to my man Xavier for hooking up this match. Well how do i put this... 30-4 in the first match. Second match was... just wait for the video footage to hit the streets. They are not called Masters for nothing.

But its all love and we had a blast. Big up to all the players that came out.. keep ballin! Special thanks and shouts out to www.FXPNYC.com for supporting and sponsoring this match. Stay tuned - word on the streets is that they want a rematch with us with their "REAL" squad. We are there... Saturday @ 12pm @ Chappetto Square Park which is a block away from Astoria Park across the street from the Basketball courts under the bridge. (On Hoyt Ave North between 21st & 23rd Street).. Be There!

Issy Hitman back in Amsterdam

Friday 20 June 2008 - We have some disappointing news - Issy Hitman is the first player to leave the tour and head back to Amsterdam. He was a bit homesick and disppointed about certain things concerning the tour. He has been to the USA numerous times before and being only 19 years old is not as free here as he is in Amsterdam. You have to be 21 to get into clubs and he wanted to have more fun and the competition here for him is also not on a level. He also has a problem to get out of his bed at 10am (hahaha). So he said he wanted to go home so we put him on the plane back to Amsterdam on Friday night. There is no drama so dont go putting rumors on the street. Its going to be disappointing to some of the fans that wanted to see him. He will be back soon!!! I heard that he was spotted in the club on Saturday Night so he is back in the zone. Issy we are going to miss you on the rest of the tour but hold your head and dont party too much! This is life on the road, its hard at times.

Taking it easy WEEK

This week we have been focusing on playing a lot of pick up games, taking in the city and chilling a bit. We have been shooting a lot of footage and we have some surprises for you guys. We have been hitting a lot of courts all across the city. So be on the look out, if you see someone rocking a MOTG shirt. Its really us! We are here.

On a personal note some of the players are getting a bit homesick. We have been out now for like 3 1/2 weeks and everyone misses his own bed and family. Its hard to stay in a house together with 8 MEN! Luckily everyone is cool with each other otherwise...

MOTG Clinics in China Town & Boston Futbolito

The Tour...
We have been playing a lot of pickup games, hanging out and enjoying NYC, you know the players have been buying shoes, shades, and whatever else is hottt plus there has been a battle royal in the house on Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. The question is who will be the champion. Lenny Netteb talked a good game out the blocks but so far issy hitman is the master. I guess his skills are not only on the pitch.

Wed 11 June 08 / Friday 13 June 2008
Since our last update things have been going great. We did 2 incredible clinics down at the courts in Chinatown. The kids attending the camps always have a lot of fun and enjoy themselves. But more importanly the LEARN something about football. Thanks to the NYC parks department for supporting MOTG! Good looking Cory and the rest of your team.

Sat - 14 June 20089
Its 4am and the alarm clock goest off. We have a 3 1/2 drive up to Boston to compete in the Futbolito tournament. We arrived around 0845 and our first reactions were not good cause the surface was grass and we at least expected artificial turf. Top make matters even worse the the grass was at least 3-5 inches tall. The grass litterly covered 1/4 of the ball. After a mad search we went and bought some shoes for Lenny MacNack, Edward decided to play in his street shoes... Games were slow and the competition was mixed. The organization told us that the referees didnt show up so they used people from the audience and offered to pay them $20 per game. Do the math. There were friends calling games of friends and this was a professional tournament!!! We got there early and breezed through all the prerounds. We were there with 2 teams, the official MOTG team and the other was with our crew from NYC (edward and issy played on this team). Shouts out to TONY and the rest of the crew!! Fast forward to about 2 pm after a disappointing match and breathing down a quick pizza... we were on the sideline chillin just watching the game from Tony's team and all hell broke lose. One bad call by a ref (friend on the competing team) and a disagreement lead to someone throwing a water bottle from somewhere in the crowd. We have video footage but its not too nice for the Boston Police department. Long story short we all came together so we left together due to comments of a "racist" Boston Po Po telling one of players from our NYC team that they didnt want their kind there and to Go HOME! Can you picture it... Stay tuned we may leak it on youtube... All in all we had a good day and some fun.

No More Drama Part 1

Thursday 5 June 2008 - Well the tour is moving along but not without its share of drama. We all know that communication is the key to life and we have been getting our share of life lessons with communication. Today Nordin Wooter and Kiki Musampa flew in to spend a few days with us on the tour. When they arrived we were in in Jersey at Giants Stadium so they had to hang out in Manhatten until we could hook up later. We did some promo work for the NY Red Bulls with kids in the bubble before the game and all was well. They asked the players to do more things during the half time show. After leaving the field Edward van Gils was approached by a dutch player and long time friend Dave van den Bergh. Well this was against the rules (even though he came over to us) and "that day" one of the managers was having a bad day! But it doesnt matter - long story short, we did what we had to do and left the stadium as soon as possible. One day you guys may find out what really happened.

Saturday 7 June 2008 - We were picked up in a stretch limo and were driven over to Newark, New Jersey. Welcome to the Portuguese Day Parade - 2 days of almost 100 degree weather, food, music and more than 600,000 people walking the streets. Like always we did the do, distributed pannas, walked in the parade, played games, taught moves, had a lot of fun and promoted the game of street soccer/football. Big up to Hugo, Nuno and the rest of the team at Benfica Soccer Schools for all the support and love. They really took care of us. Thanks guys - C U again soon!

The players came back to the hotel after a long and tiring day and a few of them grabbed a limo and went Uptown to hang out. Big up and shouts out to Danni Moe and Johnathon for the hook up at BODY. We heard it was off the chain.

Monday 9 June 2008 - Lenny Netteb and Lenny MacNack were invited to play on a team in the Calcetto 7v7 Tournament. It was hilarious and disasterous all at the same time!!!! The team was in bad shape and they expected that our two guys were going to come and play with them to ensure that they would win. NOT!!! THAT IS WHY ITS CALLED A TEAM. Ronaldinho was on the team (at least someone thought he was dinho or maybe it was maradonna, I couldnt tell). Anyway long story short NEVER again! There were a few guys on the team with skills. You know who you are anyway..thanks for the opportunity. Drama no. 2

We have done 2 promotional things now on this tour that we VOW never to do again. But then again i should never say never cause its not about the opportunities its about the people that you have to deal with and this week we had to deal with both Beavis and a major Butt-head.

All in all things are going great. The players are enjoying the weather and especially NYC. Stay tuned...

The MOTG Team is COMPLETE

Today Issy Hitman and Lenny Netteb arrived in NYC. The MotG Team is complete. These two players had to come in a bit later due to other obligations in Europe but its on and poppin now. Other street football players, BEWARE - you have been warned. The most dangerous street football team in the world is about to make the streets of America unsafe. Stay tuned....

MOTG Summer Tour 31 May

What up peeps,

Here is a quick update on the happenings. We flew from Amsterdam to Atlanta to Albuquerque and upon arriving the players were met at the airport with news cameras. After 19 hours of traveling its kind of hard to do tricks (but like always we did what we had to do). After checking into our hotel and getting some needed rest we took a day off in order to adjust to the climate and altitude here (8000 ft above sea level). Today was the jumpoff.

We have been promoting street football out here in this steaming hot Albuquerque sunshine. Today the temperature was 91 degrees / 33 degrees celcius in the shade so you better believe we are getting our tans on (even though only one of us needs one - EDWARD)!

So far its been a blast. We have been hooking up with some very interesting people and the players are really enjoying themselves. As soon as possible we will get them to post some of their personal experiences and comments on the blog.

Shouts out to Ricci from 3 Star Sports & Entertainment and my man Pierre!!!! Also a big shout out to Alex Thomas, producer of Snoop Doggs Fatherhood television series (this guy is tooooo funny and he even has some football skills, if you ever get a chance to see his show - GO!!!).

We have only had one major problem thus far. We want to send a big shout out to SEAN from Paris and tell him to hang tight and stay focused. Our friends at USA immigrations would not let him into the country for some unknown reason. That has been a very disappointing experience but we are not done with it yet. SEAN we are here and we got you, hold it down in Europe until we can get this sorted out.

Today was the official jumpoff of the tour with a street soccer tournament here in Albuquerque. The city allowed us to close down one of the main streets (central and 4th Downtown). A special pitch was built especially for this event (Thanks Danny). The crowd really loved it and it was a lot of fun. This was the first ever street soccer tournament in the city. The MOTG team played and joked around the entire event. There are definitely some kids here with talent. The European street game is on another level so its all fun and love for the game. There were pannas and akkas flying all over the place. We will try to get some video footage out to you guys soon. Big up to "International" - they were the winners of the MOTG Albuquerque Street Soccer Tournament today.

Tomorrow we will be doing some demonstrations and attending the game between the Kansas City Wizards and CSD Municipal (Guatemala) - stay tuned...

We would like to thank Sauce Raw Nightclub, Nativo, New Mexico Sports Authority, Youth International, Premier Soccer Academy and JonRic International Salon & Day Spa for supporting and sponsoring this event!! Also a big shout out to all the local staff and the support team for being there for us (Chris & Johnny you guys are the best!).
